Greetings,
The current
cataclysms and disasters taking place on earth may
be due to more than mere coincidences or global
warming. They may be due to great transformation
that is taking place for all of life. Often, in order for
a breakthrough to happen, there must be a
breakdown that precedes it. There often needs to be
a clearing away of the old, a purification that
disassembles obsolete systems and infrastructures,
old ways of using the mind, outworn ways of being.
From these ashes, something new then takes
form.
According to Hindu
philosophy, we’re
currently in the Kali Yuga, the Iron Age, the age of
darkness and ignorance. According to the Mayan
calendar, this will all end December 21, 2012, when a
new ten thousand year cycle of peace, prosperity
and harmony will be ushered in and peace and
enlightenment will reign. The Mayan calendar, in fact,
stops at 2012. Most philosophers from all traditions
do not see that as the end of the world, but as the
end of the world as we know it, a time when there is
a massive shift in consciousness.
Many of us are
experiencing huge shifts in
our lives on a microcosmic level. We are a part of the
earth, and we too reflect the play of darkness and
light that is taking place on a planetary level. So this
is a time to transform ourselves and our lives with
great awareness and attention, to develop a deeper
connection with higher forces, and live with greater
wisdom and love. A massive spiritual transformation is
at work, and we are a part of it.

The Splendid Ormond McGill
Last week, Ormond
McGill went across to the other
side. He
has been called "The Dean of American Hypnotists,"
and he was a most extraordinary man.
There are few
people like him, a person with greatness of heart and
unceasing kindness, prolific in his writing,
conscientious in his correspondence, wise in his
understanding of the universe. And that just begins a
description of Ormond McGill.
Ormond was
my dear friend. We wrote letters often. I made cards
for him on my computer with graphics of magicians
and hypnotic eyes. He wrote letters to me on his
original typewriter (he never really got interested in
computers.) We also talked by phone, and we had
affectionate conversations whenever I saw him. He
always encouraged me. I sent him my articles and
books to look at, and he always said, “That was
splendid!” That word “splendid” was prototypical
Ormond McGill. Who else would use that word? It was
the word of a gentleman, a kind gentleman from
another time, another place. He was that –
unaffected by the coarseness of the world, a being
who remained gentle and positive throughout his
whole life.
He wrote and he
wrote. He clipped out paragraphs of his writing and
put them in different chapters of his books. He didn’t
have the luxury of the “cut and paste” functions of a
computer. He’d paste up his paragraphs the old
fashioned way – and he wrote from another
dimension. He always had his eye on the spiritual
world. He channeled the wisdom of his dear wife
named Delight, who had died many years earlier.
These words told him not to grieve, that he and
Delight were just a dimension away from one another
and could communicate through the heart. With his
eye on the spiritual world, I know he is very happy
that he’s crossed over to the other side, where he is
in his true home.
Ormond is beloved
by people in this world and on the other side, so I
know he’s happy wherever he is. He has left us a rich
legacy of amazing books and articles, and his
kindness and wisdom permeate them. The spirit of
Ormond McGill, a splendid man, a lover of humanity
and of the spiritual world will remain with us forever.
